The next Showcase will run throughout February, March and April. We are excited to welcome three local artists to the showcase exhibition space, which is located on the first floor at designermakers21.
Pyrography, paintings & needle felted animals by Becky Whatley, Ceramic Sculpture by Rob Rutterford, and photography, embroidery & detailed dioramas in glass domes by ‘Nockles’.
Visit the Showcase from the 2nd February during our opening hours Thursday to Saturday 10am-5pm.

‘The Big Sell’ designermakersCIO are fortunate to have Jacqui Petrie as one of our Trustees. Jacqui has donated her entire back catalogue of work to our ‘Save Our Story’ fundraising campaign. She has taken over the windows of designermakers21 with a striking display of her monochromatic work – charcoal, graphite and print – all of which is for sale. All the proceeds from her sales will go to designermakersCIO and into our fundraising campaign.
The Work Jacqui works in a wide range of media from drawing and painting to various printmaking processes. She takes inspiration from wherever she finds herself and has always been interested in landscape; the broad vistas and by contrast the pattern of things seen intimately closer. Recently extremes in weather caused by climate change and the beauty of floods, ice and snow transforming familiar landscapes have stimulated her imagination.
During very cold winters the deep puddles along the track that ran by her house froze into spirals which inspired a series of paintings, photographic prints and drawings. Large, bold charcoal and graphite drawings of local views down well-travelled lanes and textures of fallen leaves and foliage form a large body of work.

Join Becky Whatley, and learn the skills to create your very own seal.
The workshop will be held in The Gallery Upstairs at designermakers21, on Saturday 18th February, 10am-1pm.
£32 per participant (this includes all materials, tea/coffee and biscuits)
Becky is donating all profits from this workshop to our ‘Save our Story’ fundraising appeal.
Only ten places available, early booking is advisable. Workshop places can be booked in person at designermakers21 Thursdays to Saturdays, or by calling 01379 640764.
