studio – upstairs main building

I have always been fascinated by light, from chasing shadows and making shadow shapes as a child, to seeking out the stained glass in churches and historic houses growing up.

I got my first go at making stained glass in my 20s through my involvement at Kentwell Hall’s historic reenactment. A group of us worked to restore and create leaded panels for the hall using traditional techniques – including building a wood fired kiln!

From there I enrolled in an adult education course at a local college and spent a year learning how to do it properly. I have enjoyed creating stained glass ever since and have worked on commissions and tutored workshops since 2019.

My work is inspired largely through the glass itself as each piece creates possibilities and I enjoy placing colours and textures together. I am further inspired by the landscape around me and by natural forms.

Alongside my own work, I love to undertake commissions and to work closely with clients to bring their ideas to life. These pieces are unique and site-specific, taking into account the setting and light for the panel.

Like many makers, I enjoy collecting materials and I try not to pick up too many old panels, but when tempted, I love to restore these beautiful pieces and give them new life. I also undertake careful repair work for clients and am delighted to ensure them a future.

I worked for many years in heritage education in a variety of museum and galleries and very much enjoy passing on my love of creating to others.

I offer a range of creative and stained glass workshops where everyone can take home something to be proud of.
