Shelby is an illustrator and ceramicist interested in diverting the mainstream and celebrating the unusual. She is heavily inspired by punk/alt music, retro objects, traditional tattoo art, folklore and the supernatural.
Shelby graduated from Norwich University of the Arts with a degree in Illustration where her work focused on punk, the female identity and zine culture. Since then she has been developing her skills in ceramics, looking to combine her illustration work with her more recent passion for working with clay.
Shelby is currently doing an Incubator Fixed Term Residency at designermakers21 where she is looking to expand her existing illustration practice, as well as exploring hand-building with clay. Currently she is producing pots, mugs and unique trinkets using sgraffito and slip-decoration techniques inspired by all things spooky and strange!
Shelby also loves working on commissions to create one-of-a-kind work for customers looking for something a little bit different.
