After immersing myself in the world of natural fibre and learning the shocking data related to the destructive nature of fast fashion in my first year of university, I decided to dedicate myself to producing only fully compostable garments, which reconnect the fibre to the wearer and the wearer to the maker. I believe when one connects with clothing, there is a healing which begins to mend generations of resource and labour exploitation.

It gives me satisfaction to say that I have not worked with plastics, mixed metals or harsh chemicals for three years…and counting! I now work primarily with locally sourced UK wool provided by a local young Shepardess, Tilly Abbot. Having contact with the flock and handler offers a valuable insight into the wool’s journey from lamb to ewe, to my hands. This knowledge is what brings value to all that I produce.

In addition, I make my own Egg-Tanned leather from local Game hides, and hand carve my hardware from local, responsibly sourced coppiced hazel. Working with local materials has allowed me to build a widespread fibre network across East Anglia, which will be ever growing throughout my practice. This careful process puts fibre at the forefront of all that I produce. For that reason I am a proud winner of the Norwich University of the Arts Sustainability Award 2026 and am eager to elevate the Lens through which we view the precious resources of East Anglia.

Everything I produce is carefully considered, mindfully produced and applies a range of intuitive skill, which can only be learned through sustained practical based learning. Being absolutely true to my values as a regenerative fibre artist gives me confidence in the pieces I create. I hope to share this knowledge through workshops in the near future here at designermakers21 and I look forward to meeting visitors!
