What will I do?
Join us for a one-day workshop with textile artist Sarah Boardman, and learn the wonderful technique of Swedish Weaving Embroidery.
You may have heard, “the back should be as neat as the front” in needlework circles. What if you didn’t need to worry about that? Swedish Weaving embroidery has no threads on the reverse side of the fabric! Also known as “Huck embroidery,” it is worked entirely on the surface of the fabric. Intrigued? Then why not join Sarah for a full day workshop, introducing you to this wonderful hand embroidery technique. You will learn some basic stitches and work a small band that can be made into a card, bookmark, needle-case or similar. You will also be shown how to vary the design and how it can be used to create larger pieces. Sarah looks forward to meeting you and sharing her passion for this folk embroidery.
