What will I do?
Join us for a full day workshop with textile artist Yvonne Pratt to create, and embroider a fabric collage art piece.
Yvonne will share her tips and techniques on how to create your very own fabric art collage. Learn how to create your piece using, ready hand dyed base to work on, hand dyed fabrics, hand printed fabrics, voile netting fabric, netting, ribbon, and embellishments. Lastly you will learn some simplistic embroidery stitches to pull the scenic fabric collage together.
During the workshop you will learn how to hand paint onto a fabric prepared base then using prepared fabric learn how to layer a landscape collage. You will add handmade buttons into your scene and lastly learn how to hand embroider some simplistic stitches to build your decorative textile art piece.
Once completed you will have created your very own pink sunrise seascape fabric collage art piece.
Who is the Workshop For?
Suitable for beginners, and those with previous experience. This workshop is suitable for aged 16+. Under 18’s must be accompanied by a participating adult.
What is Provided?
All materials, tea/coffee and biscuits.
The kit for the workshop provided includes handbook with full instructions to create your seascape fabric collage, hand dyed base, fabrics, threads, ribbon, handmade buttons, needles, and thimble.
What to Bring
A packed lunch. Alternatively, you can sample treats from one of Diss’ lovely independent cafes
